We are working on making ACE Professional on-demand as well. ACE Professional does require hands on experience. The test is combination of both theory (written) and practical (LAB work). Think of it as CCIE where you pass the written exam and then also pass a day long hands on LAB. Same concept here.

If you are existing customer we have voucher available. Using the voucher the cost for the bootcamp, written exam and LAB could be waived. Talk to your Aviatrix sales rep and he could get you a voucher.
